An article in USA Today about potential legal obstacles for both the prosecution and defense teams in the Bill Cosby sexual-assault trial interviews Anthony O’Rourke, associate professor of law and an expert in criminal law, who said he believes there is no legal bar to suppress a deposition given by Cosby in 2006 and released by a judge in 2015. “Depositions from civil cases are used in criminal cases all the time,” he said. The story also aired on television stations that include WTSP-TV in Tampa, WKYC-TV in Cleveland and KARE-TV in Minneapolis.
